Cuba -Summer 2002

In the summer of 2002 Jason Kolbe and I traveled to Cuba where we traveled across the island collecting herps with Lourdes Rodríguez and Ada Chamizo (both biologists at the Institute of Ecology and Systematics in Havana). For the first two weeks of the trip we were joined by Steve Poe and Rachael Mueller (from UC Berkeley) and Wilma and Adela, two other Cuban colleagues. Here are a few of the photos from our trip, all photos copyright 2002, please follow these simple rules if you'd like to use one of these photos. - REG August 24, 2002

Two Cuban gentlemen who helped us catch lizards in Pinar del Rio. Grandfather and grandson at a locality where we found A. bremeri. This fellow climbed a tree to help us catch an adult Chameleolis porcus near Maisi. The 'Santa Clara Snake Show', a roadside attraction featuring a Cuban croc and boa (both with their mouths taped shut). This guy cut down part of a tree so we could get to the frog inside that had just eaten an adult female A. allisoni.
